Midlands U16 vs City of Hull U16

The Midlands Under 16s will visit Bishop Burton College on Saturday where they will take on the City of Hull Academy U16s Development team.

This will be the second game of the 2018-19 representative season, after Midlands hosted the City of Hull at Lenton Lane in October last year. The game that day saw City of Hull demonstrate their power and experience in scoring several excellent tries. However, the Midlands players improved throughout the match, and posted two well-worked late scores, with the scoreline finishing 8-42 in favour of the visitors.

The Midlands players have since been training hard under the watchful eye of coaches Glenn Holt and Adam Cunliffe, and have also been bolstered by a few new additions to the squad.

Head Coach Holt commented “the lads have been working really hard and taking on board the things that myself and Adam are teaching them, so we’re hopeful for an improved performance on Saturday.

“City of Hull have got some strong players, and will no doubt provide another tough test for us. But our lads are improving in leaps and bounds, and will really relish Saturday’s challenge.”

The game kicks off at 11am, and will be taking place at Bishop Burton Sports Centre, York Road, Bishop Burton, Beverley HU17 8QG. Supporters are welcome.
